As one of three prgmr.com employees, I perform a wide range of shared duties, including integrating the export of Paypal online payments to Freeside in a lockbox format, provisioning Xen domUs for new customers with an inhouse script, up or downgrading customer domUs manually, transferring user domUs from old to new servers, administrating the website and wiki, and providing technical support through RT.

I repeated many duties from the previous summer under the supervision of David Pope.

I replaced two temps for the duration of the summer and led 3 engineers in the diagnosis of malfunctioning servers suffering from a number of failures ranging from CPU or RAID. I used and troubleshooted in-house scripts to interact with and manage clusters of deteriorating servers. I also identified both known and emerging issues with the servers via Phantom, IPMI and similar serial consoles.

I designed and maintained yolocf.org.

I wrote the CSS design for prgmr.com. As a systems administrator, I manually checked the security logs for unauthorized access attempts and blacklisted offending IP addresses. Through the shell, I set up chrooted jails, XEN virtual servers, and edited bind 9 zone files. I also wrote the technical documentation for rsync: http://prgmr.com/rsyncdoc.html

I performed various minor tech support services. Mostly, this consisted of troubleshooting internet connections and cleaning out viruses..
